In Memory of New York City's World Trade Center and those whom had perished in the tragedy...

September 11th, 2001. A Terrible Tuesday that I will never forget. I simply couldn't believe my eyes when a New York-based friend called me on Tuesday night  (Singapore time) that the World Trade Center was destroyed by two planes in a horrible terrorist attack. I immediately called my best buddy in New York City that very moment and my worst nightmare was confirmed. All that were left of one of the world's greatest superstructure were smouldering debris. But the saddest part of this tragedy was the fact that thousands of innocent lives perished as the twin towers came crumbling down onto earth. No words could describe how I felt, even now...

It is no surprise that somehow people were emotionally attached to the buildings. I am one of them. I have had so many fond memories about the World Trade Center. I mean, how can you ever ignore the twin towers when they were the first buildings that one saw when entering the city? For a time, the towers were the tallest structures in the world until they were surpassed by the Sears Towers in Chicago and, most recently, the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Looming over the Manhattan skyline, the 110-storey glass-and-steel twin towers have always been a reference point for everyone. I remember looking up in the sky and admiring the architectural beauty of the impressive towers. But now, there is nothing and it is really going to be weird. And it also reminds me how precious life is, so never ever take life for granted, especially with your loved ones...

Please join me as I pay tribute to the World Trade Center in my own small ways. To me, there will always be a special place deep in my heart for those whom had perished in the tragedy and the World Trade Centre. I would like to share with you all the fond memories that I had with the World Trade Center through these wonderful pictures.

God bless America...
