I.
Two Different Pictures
1.
Picture of a cursed man (like a desert) verses 5-6

Picture of a man who based his faith in
man (emptiness)
Consequences:
·
Leave God
·
Like a bush in the wastelands
·
He will not see prosperity
·
In a salt land which is not inhabited
2.
Picture of a blessed man (like a tree
planted by the waters) verses 6-7
·
Picture of man who trusts in the LORD and
whose hope is the LORD
Results
·
Like a tree planted by the waters
·
Roots spread out by the rivers
·
When the heat comes, leaves still green
·
When there is a drought, still yield fruits
II.
Uncured Illness (verse 9)
·
“the heart is deceitful above all
things”
·
And very wicked
·
Who can understand it/
III.
The Only Cure
·
GOD search the heart and test the mind
·
Give every man according to his ways, and
fruits of his doings
