Pham V. Mai
Translated by Tristan Nguyen
I was born in
Binh Dai, Ben Tre. Like
all the young men of my time, I joined the army.
From 1961 to the incident of 1975, I served in Marine
Unit No. 23 and No. 7. I
was the leader of Unit No. 7.
The incident of 1975 had made me a political prisoner.
Thirteen years long, I began to understand the meaning
of life. Hatreds,
mistreats like a cloud cover my life with darkness.
February 1988, I was released from the prison camp and
witnessed my wife with mental illness.
My dream of being the high rank officer had shattered.
Alone in a small house, in middle of nowhere, I found
happiness through the message from a Radio program from
Philippine. The
message was full of love and encouragement had helped me found
some peace for my soul. God’s
words were the light the lead me from the darkness toward the
light filled with hope and glory.
February 13, 1992 was a very important day of my life.
I was baptized at My Tho Baptist church.
God once said, “…I
have come that they may have life, and that they may have it
more abundantly.” John 10:10.

I
have
found truth happiness.
I began a new life since that day; a live with love and
hope.
I studied the Bible at Atlanta Bible School.
The more I studied about God’s words, the better I
realize that I have chosen the right path.
I’m a member of Faith-Grace Baptist Church in Atlanta; I
offered my service to build God’s Nation. I always pray to the Lord to help my family, my people so
they can find happiness like I did.
May God be with you all
We ask God to give us strength to complete the task; but God
make us weak so we listen and follow His words. We ask for everything to enjoy life; but God give us LIFE so
we can have everything.
