CHAPTER TWO:
****
 PREVENTERS' HEADQUARTERS (Sunday evening)

Zechs quietly glared at the four men seated before him. "So, you're telling me that
Akira Tsubame took the exam."
"Yes. But we believe that she's one of the assasins that the 2 prisoners spoke of,"
Wufei spoke up. "Just like what you said."
"I knew it." "But there was something else, sir." Trowa spoke. "I have a reason to
believe that the prisoners still lied to us in some degree."
"What do you mean, Trowa?" Quatre faced the former Nanashi pilot. "What I meant was
that it is possible that some of the assasins could be older. Probably working or in
college." Trowa stared off to space.
"What gave you that idea?" Duo rubbed his head. "In that boarding house. Don't you
remember?" Trowa closed his eyes.
"That's right! When we entered the house, Miss Myers was giving us cold looks as if
we were intruders or something like that." Wufei agreed. "But that's not possible!" Zechs
snapped. "Those two prisoners were under medication when we interrogated them so it won't
be possible that they would lie to us."
"Yes, it is impossible for those two to lie." Heero barged into Zechs' office with a
folder in hand.
"Yo, Heero." Duo greeted him. Heero Yuy gave him one of his usual cold looks before
placing the folder on Zechs' desk.
"What's this?" Zechs flipped through the pages. "Those are airline records for the
past year." "So what about it?"
"Look at the highlighted data." "So what about them?" Zechs glared at him, tossing
the report back to Heero. "What is wrong about having the same seat number?"
"Read them again." Heero tossed them back. "If you were to read them properly, you
would have realized that all the highlighted data are of the same seat number, same
airline, same plane and one week apart from each other."
"So what about them? It could have been merely a coincidence." Noin spoke up while
she entered the room with Sally Po.
"Coincidence, my butt." Sally muttered. Then she turned and faced Heero. "I see you
have given him the report."
"What is this all about, Po?" Zechs glared at the sandy-brown-haired woman. "That is
the airline report for the year." Sally shrugged.
"You see when I did an info check-up on the two, I found out that they took the same
seat, same airline, same plane and they arrived here in Tokyo within a week after each
other." Sally returned his glare with a cool look. "I realized that there must be something
about that seat so I decided to have Heero check it out while I ran a more thorough
background check on our two prisoners."
"And you wouldn't believe what kind of information Sally just dug out." Noin shook
her head.
"What do you mean by that?" Duo asked Sally aka Preventer Water.
"Here, read this report." Sally tossed him a thick folder. Duo quietly read the data
report along with Quatre.
"Woow. So you're telling us that they weren't even born here?" Duo gaped at her.
Quatre in the meanwhile was reading another copy of the airline report when something
caught his eyes.
"Good grief." Quatre goggled at the report. "What's wrong?" Wufei asked the
former Sandrock pilot while Trowa stood up to take a look on the report.
"Look at the highlighted names.""So what?" Duo asked him.
"It says Akira Makoto. So what?" Wufei retorted. "Read the names below that." Quatre
prodded them more.
"Kristine Marks. Lilliane Kenneth. Elaine Bates." Duo read them out loud. "Now read
three names above Akira Makoto." Quatre added.
"Isis Myers. Himura Asaka. Nagata Toji." Trowa spoke. "Don't you get it? They arrived
a week after another." Quatre exclaimed. "They're the boarders of the boarding house where
Miss Akira lives."
The four of them exchanged shocked looks before jumping on their feet.

^AT THE BOARDING HOUSE^(Monday morning)
"Damn it!!!" Lilliane hollered as she ran down the stairs, clutching only one rubber
shoe. "Where did you guys hide my other shoe?"
Kristine just gave her a cool look as she walked out of the living room, ready to go
to school. "I believe it is under the couch, Lil." Elaine yelled from inside the kitchen.
"By the way, don't forget to get your lunches here!"
It took Lilliane ten minutes to find her other shoe and another fifteen to arrange
her things. When the clock struck 7:20, Lilliane and Kristine were already by the front
door putting on their shoes. Lilliane was busy tying her shoelaces when she felt a
prickling sensation behind her neck.
'Something's not right.' She muttered to herself as she straightened up. They were
all just about to open the front door when something came crashing into the living room.
Lilliane, Kristine and Elaine immediately reacted and swiftly entered the living room,
only to find it filled with some kind of gas.
"Sleeping gas." Kristine exclaimed, her senses reeling due to the gas. Elaine and
Lilliane quickly dragged her back to the front door. Lilliane had just swung the door open
when something was sprayed on to her causing to faint.
"Lilliane!" Elaine exclaimed before she was smothered from behind. Kristine made a
desperate attempt to escape only to lose consciousness due to extreme inhalation of the
sleeping gas.
"Search the upper floor!" Duo ordered the other operatives, behind his gas mask as he
gently laid the unconscious Elaine on the floor. Wufei nudged the sedated Lilliane before
proceeding into the house. After a half hour of searching, the Preventers found no clue on
the whereabouts of the other four occupants, but there were some evidences that they were
the assasins.
It was not a really easy task. It took Trowa to hack into their computers about
twenty minutes. By that time, the sleeping gas finally dissipated. "So what did you find?"
Quatre asked him, peeking over his shoulder.
"Mission details, surveillance videos, blueprints of the Parliament Building in L2
and blueprints of some sort of a Mobile Suit." Trowa glanced at him. "They were pretty
well protected."
Quatre nodded in agreement before scrolling down the blueprints.

MEDIATORS' BASE SOMEWHERE BETWEEN TOKYO AND KYOTO (Monday Morning)

Makoto let out an almost dreamy sigh as she turned in her sleep. Isis looked up from
the other bed in the room and gave her a half-felt glare. "Wake up, Makoto." She uttered,
hurling her pillow to the sleeping brunette. "It's already ten in the morning."
Makoto opened one eye then the other before sitting up on her bed. "Why are you
dressed like that?" She asked her commanding officer who was wearing her work clothes.
"The Council called. They want the prototype ready by next week." Isis said as she
tied her shoelaces. "It is just fine for me to stay here for another week since this week
is the festival and I had myself excused."
"What about me?" Makoto stood up to fix her bed. "I had already sent an e-mail to
your principal. I told her that you had to leave unexpectedly because your father was
sick." Isis looked up to glance out of the window. It was a bit sunny, a probably good
time to test the new Gibbous prototype and the new Juno prototype.

HATAKO STATION (Monday Evening)

Asaka yawned tiredly as she followed Toji of their way back to the boarding house.
For some reason, she was uneasy while they were on the subway train.
"Wanna race, Asaka?" Toji grinned as soon as they got to the bus stop before their
house. Asaka tiredly shook her head and politely declined. Toji shrugged his shoulders
before rushing to their boarding house. Asaka quietly watched her light brown haired
companion leave her behind. She knows that Toji only wanted to get home fast because
Isis would not be at home.	She was just about to turn on the last corner when she
heard a loud commotion from the direction of the house. Being a cautious agent, she
stooped down ang peeked. She could see Toji struggling to get free from the clutches
of several men.
'He could care of himself now.' She shrugged. Then she realized that Toji was
having trouble on getting free from the men. She was just about to go and assist him
when she caught sight of a blond haired youth step out of the boarding house. They were
Preventers, she realized, and this only meant one thing... They were found out.
