CHAPTER FIVE:
****
TOKYO SPACEPORT (A week after the letter was received. November 1 A.C. 200)

Duo and Milliard shivered quietly in their trenchcoats as they watched the
Mediators' plane come to a stop. The Council of the Mediators sent a team to
negotiate for them. They said that it was composed of their youngest yet highest-
ranking female officers of the army.
Quatre looked up from the car where he and Wufei were cooped up.
"Any readings in the sensor?" He asked the Chinese man. Wufei only shook his
head. Noin and Sally had gone to check on the accomodations for the guests and Heero
went with them for security measures.
Milliard was quiet the whole time that the plane rolled to stop and opened its
cabin door.
-
Makoto shivered slightly as she stepped out of the plane and into the chilly
wind. She buttoned up her coat and waited for Lilliane to come out of the plane.
"Jesus! Is it this cold during this time of year here?" Lilliane hissed to her
ear as the blond held her coat close.
"Lilliane, your beret. Hold it down or it will fly." Elaine said from inside
the plane.
-
Duo squinted against the wind and gaped at the two figures standing outside the
cabin door. "Those are Lilliane Kenneth and Akira Tsu--- I mean, Akira Makoto." He
exclaimed.
"We'll just ask them nicely later." Milliard ordered him as the rest of the five
member team stepped out of the plane.
-
Isis smirked inwardly as she watched her companions and the Preventers
representatives shiver. She was glad that she grew up in Siberia inspite of her father's
protests. But it did have good points.
"General Myers?" Milliard yelled over the wind. Isis nodded and motioned him that
they should enter the building. Milliard nodded in agreement and after a short agrument
with the shorter man with him, he turned and led the group into the building. He gave
time all of them to stomp their feet and open their coats inside the warmed building.
"General Myers," Milliard shook hands with her.
"Preventer Wind, I may presume." Isis smiled. "And I see Captain Duo Maxwell is
with you. May I ask why do you keep Captain Winner and Captain Chang stuck in the car?"
	"I'll get them." Duo volunteered.
"They're checking if we have weapons or anything with a sensor." Elaine said.
"Man, Elaine. Do you have to be that blunt?" Kristine gritted her teeth.
"Hey! It's better to be blunt than to be flirty." Lilliane grinned maniaclly at
her.
"Ugh. Pervert." Kristine shivered, much to her companions amusement.
"I guess we haven't introduced each other properly." Quatre said as he and Wufei
entered the building.
"I believe that you have met my companions, Commander Elaine Bates, Colonel Lilliane
Kenneth, Colonel Kristine Marks and Colonel Akira Makoto." Isis presented each of her staff.
"Good afternoon, ladies." Milliard curtly bowed. "I'm Milliard Peacecraft. My
companions are Captain Duo Maxwell, Captain Chang Wufei and Captain Quatre Raberba Winner."
"It's not actually afternoon anymore." Makoto spoke up in a timid voice. "It's already
evening. It just turned seven o'clock."
"Thank you very much for the update, Colonel Akira." Milliard nodded.
"So you were Mediators, not assasins." Duo glanced at Elaine.
"Yes, we were. But we were on a mission during that time to assasinate Deputy Prime
Minister Dorlian." Elaine replied.
"There's no need to work about the planned assasination. Our superiors disregarded
that order. No attempts on the life of Deputy Prime Minister Dorlian will be done." Isis
held up a hand. "Now we are here to negotiate, not to kill anyone."
"We hope that your superiors will keep their words." Milliard gritted his teeth.
"They will." Kristine smiled. "Unless they want to be terminated."
"Oh." The four Preventers exchanged looks.

PREVENTERS' HEADQUARTERS (The next day, Monday morning.)

Lady Une studied the five Mediators seated right across of the five former Gundam
pilots.
"Very well, why don't we start?" Lady Une sat on the head of the table. "General
Myers, could you please brief us shortly about the history of Mediators Elite Force?"
"As you order, Miss Une." Isis nodded and stood up. She pulled down the overhead
screen and then turned off the lights.
"The Mediators is a secret army whose purpose is to ensure the peace and order
of humanity and to keep the balance of peace and justice in all dimensions possible. It
began twenty five years ago, a new army compared to the Federation and to OZ." Isis began,
showing them a slide with the founding fathers of the army on it.
"It was only twenty years ago that the Mediators entered this dimension. At first,
they just observed from a distance."
"How far?" Milliard asked. "About two lightyears away." Isis shrugged as if it was
nothing. "But during the start of the Operation Meteor, the Council became worried that if
this dimension were to fall into chaos, the other dimension will become aware of the war
and start their own.
"So, they sent a couple of their agents into the governments hoping to avoid
the war." She flashed another slide, showing three famous yet deceased officials.
"It maybe unfortunate that the war started and most of our agents were caught on the
crossfire, but their sacrifice proved to be essential. After the war between the Colony
Stars, OZ and White Fang, Mediators in this dimension began to mobilize." She flashed
another picture but this time it was a base just off L16.
" They set up fake recruitment agencies to get some more staff. Everything went along
very fine, until Deputy Prime Minister Dorlian announced to the world and the Colony
Clusters that all Mobile Suits and weapons are to be disposed of. Our superiors became
afraid due to the fact that we already had a lot of recruits and Mobile Suits, and that's
when they sent out teams to assasinate Prime Minister Dorlian and whoever approves with her."
A picture of Relena was shown before Isis turned on the lights. "And that was when the
Preventers felt our presence."
"Any questions, gentlemen?" Lady Une asked her eight-man team.
"Just one." Sally raised a hand. "I was wondering... how old were your youngest
recruits?"
"Two, but those are the chosen ones. Most of them are orphans in which we see special
characteristics in them." Isis replied monotonously."That is how we started."
"About that. Where do you train your recruits?" Noin added.
"We have several training ships somewhere beyond the Colonies." Elaine replied for
Isis. "Some of them as near as the Jupiter."
