On October 11, 1996, Troop 18 left for the Pawnee Bill District Camporee at the Pawnee Bill Ranch and Museum just outside of Pawnee, Oklahoma. Upon arival, we had a short hike to our camp. When we got to camp (well after dark), we what was perhaps the biggest challenge of the weekend, pitching our tents! When we finished, our troop and others went to the campfire. There were skits and songs but T-18's skit was the best of all.

The nexty morning each patrol of T-18 made breakfast consisting of eggs, sausage, pancakes, and oatmeal. The eggs and sausage prepared by the Panther patrol were the bestat least the SPL thought so. After breakfast was over, we had a flag ceremony where we said the Pledge of Allegiance, the Scout Oath, and the Scout Law.

The we had competitions, patrol vs. patro., the competitions were sawing logzzzz, buffalo riding, home on the range, and the nastiest of all, Chips Ahoy. Chips Ahoy consisted of buffalo chip throwing. For each competition, your patrol was awarded points, and whoever got the mot points won.

Chips Ahoy!

When we were done with competitions we had lunch consisting of sandwiches andhot dogs. After lunch, we did service projects. Then we had another competition, the bean competition, in which weach patrol cooked beans and was awarded points for the bean concoction. These points were added to the patrols' other points. At that night's campfire, awards were given out. a first place awardwas given to the Beaver Patrol and second place awards to the Rat and Panther Patrols who tied. After the camp fire, some of us played charades.

The next morning our patrols cooked pancakes. Then we went to chapel which emphasized telling the truth which is important to all scouts. Then it was time to break camp and hike back to civilization.
