Patrols: Scouts interact in small self-reliant units where they learn to work together to accomplish their common goals.
Leadership Development: Scouts are involved with increasing leadership responsibilities in both patrol and troop.
Advancement: Opportunities are provided equally to all scouts in Troop 818 to progress at their own pace. Troop 818 monitors, facilitates, and encourages each scout's advancement, but the decision to do so is their own.
Outdoors: Through the emphasis of the Boy Scout program on camping, scouts learn to share responsibilities and to live with each other. Troop 818 tries to camp overnight one month and to attend a week-long camp each summer.
Uniform: Wearing the Boy Scout uniform shows each scout's commitment to Scouting. Troop 818 wears their full uniform (shirt, pants or shorts, socks, and belt) to weekly meetings, to and from campouts, and to all troop functions.
Personal Growth: Troop 818 seeks to serve the community whenever it can. Through planning, progress, and achievement, scouts grow. Our dues program is also designed to foster personal growth.
Adult Associations: Adults working with Troop 818 serve as guides, advisors, and role models. All program activities are supported by adults volunteering their time and resources.
