Since most new Scouts join their respective troops in the month of June, after the close of their Cub Scout program, they often tend to get lost in the shuffle. However, Troop 1 has a unique program for our new Scouts. The Assistant Scoutmaster in charge of new Scouts will place them in their own patrol for the summer. There are special campouts and events planned just for these new Scouts. This will help them to better adapt to their new Scouting environment.
The Assistant Scoutmaster obtains help from the Scoutmaster and his staff, as well as our older leadership trained Scouts. This way our new Scouts get the attention they deserve and can gain the confidence needed for when they are put into their regular patrols come September.
We encourage all new dads to get involved with their sons during their first few months in our troop, and continue their participation throughout their son's Scouting career.
