Well, we're really rushing into the new year. We,  or rather Connie, hosted several cooks and reporters in her kitchen this afternoon as part of a Chef On Call done by the Washington Post. Everyone in the Troop first learned about holding a successful bake sale, which we all want to do, since we need to cover the final costs left over from our Silver Award. Then we were taught by three different chefs how to make some amazing deserts. We made apple pie, two types of cupcakes, a chocolate peanut butter cake, and cookies. We didn't even sample all of the food (though we did try most of it!) and managed to sell some of it that afternoon to parents and neighbors as they came and went from the house. Though the afternoon did run a little late, we all loved the experience that we got, and can't wait to get together and start baking!
