Well, it was bake sale time, and we did go to town. On Thursday, we all got together at Connie's to begin working on the cookies. Raeanne came to help us get started with some of the outlining. It was amazing to see all of the cookies set out. We got together again Friday to keep working on the cookies. We frosted lots of cupcakes and cakes, and finished decorating and bagging cookies. Even with a short break for dinner at Chiptole, we spent the better part of ten hours working on the products Friday night. We also made a large sign advertising our products, featuring the blurb about our sale that was in the Weekend's Best section of the Washington Post. On Saturday, we got up early to do some last minute cake and cupcake frosting, additional cookie bagging, and final finishing touches. We cleaned up Connie's kitchen and loaded her car and Mrs. Kloke's car with the food. We brought everything down to our tables, set up, and began to sell. We ended up having tons of sugar cookies, three types of cupcakes, two types of cakes, chocolate chip cookies, and peanut butter chocolate rice krispy bars. Our location was great- right next to the Starbucks truck that was giving out free samples. We all took turns walking around the arts festival with a poster advertising the bake sale. We sold out of cakes relatively quickly, and only had a few cookies and melty cupcakes left at the end of the sale. In four hours, we made $630. Taking expenses out, we made $591. However, Harry Potter and Friends did go missing. If anyone knows where they went, could you let Connie know. We have more than enough money to cover the costs of the trees and plaque, and have plenty of money to go into our account, possibly to cover the New York trip.
