Chapter 5: "Did you see that?" Vegas whispered to Melissa as they got off their buses. "Yeah. What does she think she's doing?" Melissa asked. "I'm not sure but that whole being nice to the fans thing has to stop." Vegas snapped. Melissa nodded in agreement. "Aww, that was so sweet of you." Madison, Faye and Imajin caught up with me. "I know, me and Alex were just talking about that on the bus." I said smiling. "So what is up with you and AJ anyway?" Madison asked in that girlfriend sort of way. "Nothing. There is nothing up with us. Just friends." I told the trio of gossipers. "Sure, only his 'close' friends call him Alex." Ima smiled. "No, just friends, bus mates, nothing more!" "Ah uh!" Faye winked at me. "You guys..." I whined then continued up to our rooms. Two fans were waiting in the elevator. A shreek echoed inside when the doors opened, they were expecting us to be one of the Boys, when any smart fan would have figured out that they take the stairs to avoid these kind of encounters. "Oh, it's just the dancers." One of the girls said. "Yep, just us, the DANCERS." I emphized on dancers realizing that now, I was one of the elite few. Madison, Imajin and Faye all smiled. I knew I truely wasn't a trained dancer but I did know that I wasn't simply a nobody anymore. There was a small Backstreet dancer fan club out there, perhaps they just aren't as loud as the actual Backstreet fans, but their out there and I was going to make it my mission to let them know that we appreciate it. The documentary, Karen Haskell was joining up with us at tonight's show and that would be the perfect opportunity to show all of our fans that we loved them. "What's the room arrangement?" Faye spoke up. "I think it's the same as the buses." Ima answered. "Last I heard that's what it was." Mad confirmed. "Well, we'll catch up with B, he always knows what's going on." I joined the conversation. "Either him or Kev." Faye added as we reached the 12th floor where our rooms were. "There's Bri and Carrie, let's ask." Faye said first as we all walked over to them. They had all of the room keys anyway. "Same as the bus." Brian said as he handed out the keys when the rest of the Boys arrived upstairs. "Alright." Everyone agreed. "I guess you're stuck with me again." I laughed as AJ and I walked to the end of the hall where our room was. "Two days... we get to stay here two days." AJ said as he opened the door to the luxurious hotel room. I drug my heavy bag across the floor and plopped onto the plush sofa, "I'm not complaining." "Who would?" AJ laughed sitting next to me. "Not sure, but I'm gonna take a soak before the show. Do you gotta go?" I asked him while I stood up and headed towards the bathroom. "Nope, I'm gonna check out the movie selection." "Alright, be out in a bit." I went into the bathroom, there was a huge whirlpool tub in the corner with a large window next to it that overlooked the skyline. "Relaxing." I thought to myself. I checked the temperature in the water, then went back out to the living room area to get my portable CD player and headed back into the bathroom. The water was the perfect temperature, so I took some towels out of the cupboard, set them on the counter and stepped into the soothing water. I popped my Alicia Keys CD into the player, her CD has that music that puts your mind at ease so I thought it'd be nice to listen to while I relaxed. "I keep on fallin..." I sang to myself as I closed my eyes. About a half hour went by, I must have dosed off. The CD player was spinning on the repeat of Fallin. I took off my headphones and got out of the warm water, wrapped myself in a towel as well as a my hair in another. "Don't look!" I called out as I came out of the bathroom. "I won't." AJ said back. I walked out of the bathroom wrapped in my towels and went over to my suitcase. "Do you know when they were gonna bring by our outfits?" I asked him. "Nope." He answered still looking away. "Okay, well I'm gonna go ask Imajin then." I said grabbing some under garments, a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. I then went back into the bathroom to get dressed. A couple minutes later I came back out and my clothes for the show were sitting on the chair. "Gosh, they couldn't have shown up two minutes earlier." I laughed sitting down next to AJ who was watching 'Save The Last Dance' on the movie channel. "Oh, this is the good part." AJ whispered. It was when Julia Stiles' character explained to Sean Patrick Thomas why she gave up ballet. I sat silent watching it. "Commercial." AJ announced, as if I couldn't tell from the AT&T wireless ad. "So, you stoked for the show tonight?" AJ turned to me and asked. "Yeah, definetly." I answered him. "You're certainly in a different mood from earlier." AJ said. "I know. I talked to someone who changed my entire perspective on this dancing thing." I smiled when I thought of that sweet girl I had met downstairs. "I wonder...." I trailed off looking across the room at my dance outfit. "Be right back." I added. I ran out of our hotel room, down the hall to Fatima's. "Hey!" I said when she opened the door. "I had an awesome idea...." I began to tell her what I thought of. "I think that'd be cool. Why don'tcha go tell the other girls." Fatima said agreeing with my idea. "Okay. Seeya at the show!" I walked away, onto Imajin's room. ::knock:: "Heya, Ima. It's me Ray." "It's open!" She called back. Madison, and Faye were both sitting on the couch across from Ima who was sitting in a chair. "You guys... change of plans for tonight's show!" I started but was cut off by Madison. "Please, no new dances...." "Nope. Just listen to this... you know how I talked to that fan Felicia downstairs?" They all nodded. "Well, I talked to Fatima a minute ago and what do you guys think of..." I continued to tell them my plans for the show. After I was finished, they all loved the idea by the way. Madison spoke up, "Um, what about Lucky and Melissa?" "Oh, I didn't think of that..." I trailed off trying to figure out what we could do. I knew for a fact that they wouldn't agree to our change. "Who cares! They only want the spotlight anyway." Faye laughed. "Yeah, we'll just make em look like fools when they show up!" Ima laughed too. I jumped up from the floor where I was sitting and said, "Okay then, let's get this plan underway!" |
