Website Consolidations

In the interest of providing a central place for all information relating to all drama activities at Madrid High School, in addition to improving ease of use and possibly additional features in the future it has been decided to replace the MHSThespians and MadridHSDrama Yahoo groups with a single website. Now I'm sure you are all thinking that how could a website allow for the user interactions capable under Yahoo on our budget? The answer is simple, the new site is on a free webhost specializing in hosting PostNuke powered sites. It allows nearly the same level of functionality as Yahoo Groups, with a few exceptions. Now instead of reading messages in your e-mail and trying to follow discussions using the Subject line of the message, we have a full forum system (powered by the phpBB PostNuke module)to where we can organize messages into forums and also posts are threaded. We have only lost one real piece of functionality, and that is the calendar, however the drama calendar has been loaded into the troupe Yahoo account and is accessible directly via Yahoo Calendar or downloads will be available soon for importing into Outlook and other programs. I would like the school to create a building-wide site using PostNuke to be powered by the district webserver. In which case the calendar for not only drama, but possibly all activities would be available at the click of the mouse.
