Muskingum Adventures Fishing Guide Services
Tim Chadwell, Guide

I operate my Guide service out of Marietta, Ohio. Marietta is the oldest settlement of the Northwest territory and sits at the convergence of the Muskingum and the Ohio River. I have fished these waters all of my life. While the fishing can prove to be difficult at times, there are plenty of great fish to be caught if you know where to go.

The Little Muskingum River northeast of Marietta is banked by forested hills. The area provides a backdrop of historic barns, covered bridges, and century old farmhouses. Although subject to seasonal low water, this is the finest fishing river in southeastern Ohio.

The river appears muddy,in fact, the Indian word Muskingum translates to mean muddy river. The river is shaded by overhanging trees. Rural landscapes, cross-road communities, bluffs and rock outcrops, big shady trees, and abundant wildlife will add to your trip.

Fishing is generally very good, with 52 species of fish found in the river including the endangered Ohio brook lamprey and stream muskellunge. Fishable species include muskie, large and small-mouth bass, crappie, catfish, and rockbass.

When you come to fish with me, we can fish for everything from catfish to muskellunge. The Muskingum, its tributaries and the Ohio produce some good sized walleye, large mouth bass, smallies, hybrid bass, and shovelhead catfish.

I provide many different guiding options. We can fish from my seventeen foot walleye boat, wading, or from drift boats.

Fishing is good year round for different species of fish. Watch for river condition updates on this site.
