Duo's past is just as vague as any of the other Gundam pilots. Not knowing his family, Duo grew up as an orphan. As a child, he did befriend another boy named Solo.

Later on in the series, Duo meets a young girl named Hilde, who is just as stubborn as Duo. Hilde was a soldier when they first met but eventually, she quit. Currently, they are living together and even if ppl don't agree that they are a couple, it's definate that these two care for each other deeply.

Despite, being deceptively deadly (ooh, alliteration ^^), Duo is one of the most likeable characters in Gundam Wing. His personality is quite refreshing due to its contrast to many of the situations he is put into.
