 GERSHOM JOHNSON

Gershom shows up on a subsitute list in Morristown, New Jersey in 1776, indicating that he moved to Phildadelphia, Pennsylvania after that date..  Gershom is listed in the 1800 Phildadelphia, PA census, and is mentioned in a friends will in 1805, also in Philadelphia.  He does not.show up in 1810 census (may have been out of town), but he is listed in a legal document in 1814. Other than his son Timothy, there are no listings of additional children.  According to the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) list of Patriots, Gershom is interred in the burying ground of the First Presbyterian Church in Morristown, Morris Co., New Jersey in an unmarked grave.

Crispus Trowbridge and Gershom Johnson & his wife Mary-Ann being all the Divisees who were of age at thattime except Joseph Trowbridge who then was and for some time past has been out of this Province of New Jersey."
