To change your channel font (to
see the clubs, spades, diamonds, hearts), type this in the #TBblackjack
channel:
/font -a 14 terminal
This will change the font in the
active window to Terminal font, size 14.
You may want to change the font
size to 12 or 16, depending on personal preference.
To start playing a game, type:
BET (amount)
If a game is already in session,
then you will be added for the next round.
Shortcuts: To bet the maximum,
you can type: BET MAX. To bet the minimum, you can type: BET MIN.
Game play:
The dealer will wait 10 seconds
for people to place their bets before a game commences.
The dealer then issues 2 cards to
each player, and 2 to himself.
Only the first dealer’s card is
shown.
Each player will be shown a list
of possible options, and the best option (based on your own cards, and the
dealers
up-card).
(H)IT - This option means
you want another card to be dealt to your hand
(S)TAND - This option
means you don’t want any more cards
(D)OUBLE - This option can
only be done when your first 2 cards total 9,10 or 11.
Taking this option will double your bet amount, and
you only get 1 more card dealt.
S(P)LIT - This option will
split your first 2 cards (of equal value, eg 5&5, J&K) into 2 hands.
Taking this option will double
your bet amount (same amount per hand).
Currently there is no limit on
the number of times you can split (standard is 3 splits).
Once all the players have
stood/busted, the dealer will reveal his hidden card.
Note that you automatically lose
if you bust - even if the dealer busts.
If the dealer has less than 17,
then he’s deals himself another card.
The dealer must hit on 16 or
less, and stand on 17 or more.
Scoring:
J,Q & K are all worth 10.
For the dealer, an ACE is worth
11, unless he has more than 21, then an ACE is worth 1.
For a player, and ACE is worth 1
or 11.
All other cards are worth their
face value.
A BLACKJACK is when you
have only 2 cards, and the cards consist of an ACE, and a TEN, JACK, QUEEN or
KING.
Note that you cannot get BLACKJACK on a split. A BLACKJACK pays 1.5:1 (eg, a $10,000 bet will be worth $25,000, which is
$15,000 winnings, plus your
original $10,000 bet)
5 CARDS is when you have 5
cards in your hand, and it totals 21 or less. This pays 2:1 (eg, a $10,000 bet
will be worth
$30,000, which is $20,000
winnings, plus your original $10,000 bet).
A BLACKJACK beats 5 CARDS.
If both players have the same
type of hands, then this is called PUSH. This means nobody won or lost money.
eg, Both player and the dealer
had BLACKJACK, or 5 cards, or cards totalling the same amount.
GAMBLE:
If you win your hand, you are
given the option to take your winnings, or gamble it further by guessing the
colour of the
next card - (R)ed or (B)lack.
If you guess it correctly, then
your winnings are doubled.
Currently there is no limit to
the number of colours guessed correctly (standard is 5 guesses).
COMMANDS:
These commands can only be used
when a game isn’t in session.
STATS - Shows the dealer
statistics
MYSTATS - Shows your own
statistics
MYSTATS (nick) - Shows someone else’s
statistics
TOPRICH - Shows the Top 10
richest players
TOPPOOR - Shows the Top 10
poorest players
MISCELANEOUS:
4 decks of cards are shuffled and then 34-51 cards are cut and discarded from the deck. This is to prevent people from
card counting (to predict what
cards are left at the end of the deck, and which colours to choose during
GAMBLE).
