You and I will fall someday
Never is there time to run
From the impending doom
That is the toll of Death
Once you’ve caught a glimpse
Of the darkened face of Oblivion
You can never go back to
The way it used to be
Was a way of ignorance
Milling around in the mire
Of our all-important world
Which turns out to be,
When we step back,
A very insignificant place
Compared to the vastness
Of Everything Else
Our way was nothing
So does it really matter
Whether or not you can go back?
Death is freedom
Freedom from our precious
Slough of a world
Once you are gone,
Will others remember you?
Once they are gone,
Will anyone recall you?
If we do not take the time
To separate ourselves
Out of the commune
And make a difference
In our beloved world
No one will remember us
But does it matter anyway?
Everything must come to
Its respective end
When all has been
Enveloped in the Void
Then what?
