… Bangalore, the garden city of India. I always dreamt of being there.
Heard a lot about it , and finally saw it ........ July 9th, 2000.
. . I remember the day when I reached Bangalore for the first time
… with lot of dreams. The moment I got down from the train I could smell
the freedom in the air. I was very excited and why not? It was my first
job after all these years of study... I was going to join Wipro technologies...
I didn't care how the work would be, how the life in Bangalore would be,
I really didn’t care during that time. All I cared was that I was there
in Bangalore, & I was very happy.
I joined wipro techonologies
on 17th of July. There were quite a few of my REC friends along with me
... The initial days were fun and as the training progressed. I made
more 'n more friends within our training batch.. Infact by the time the
training was over we had made a nice little group. They were
REC suratkal, BITS pilani, pune , and a bunch of we CREC jokers !!!!.
Training got over & the batch split into different offices , but
that didn't stop our spirits . We still had occasional parties, movies,
get togethers ... and ofcourse those morning junk mails !!!!
who will forget them ?!?!?!.
Bangalore turned out to be more exciting than what i had expected and I
would attribute it more to this friend
circle rather than the much envied climate & culture over there.
Ofcourse the place had so much to offer. I say , if u haven’t been there
yet u have definitely missed something . Take a virtual
trip of the place if u feel like.
Meanwhile days passed in Wipro. Though the work wasn't that encouraging
i was bothered the least. I liked the place so much i wasn't prepared to
buzz out of it , even in the long run !!. I made some really nice
friends with each passing day, mostly within Wipro. Weekends were
absolutely fab. !! Popular hang out places like MG -
Brigade road, megabowl, CMH... well the list just continues... Some places
though i had some special likings ...
infront of REX theatre , Raheja arcade at 1830 hours, bus stop on
the road leading from koramangala to brigade ( well!! there r a lot of
bus stops , but this one was different! ), Kemp fort, especially the amazing
Shiv temple behind it, thanx to friend who took me over there.
I
never thought I would be leaving Bangalore so soon. I don’t know what exactly
led me to, but I decided to go for my higher studies. That time was quite
hectic , applying to various univeristies, and what followed it was a long
wait! Finally I got my admit from University
of Arizona and …… I’m here!
