Scouting for Food

As an organization, the Boy Scouts of America has made a strong effort to help disadvantaged communities through an annual food drive called "Scouting for Food".
Mid-November: one Saturday food collection bags are distributed door-to-door by Packs and Troops in their designated area(s)

The following Saturday, the bags with food donations are collected and transported to one of the central collection points within the District for final delivery to the Alameda County Food Bank.

Each year the Boy Scouts of America carries out a National Good Turn. For the past few years, this Good Turn has been to help local food banks collect part of the extra food people need during the holidays.
