My Last Schedual at Rogers High School:

Senior Class Sechedual Teacher Teaching Times I'm There Comments (From the Cynic Himself!)
0 Hour:  Jazz Band Ron Crenshaw 7:00-7:45AM Ugh... getting up that early is hard... but Jazz is cool in the mornings.  Just tough to get up and at 'em...
1st Period:  AP European History Jamie Olson 8:00-8:52AM Here you go... this is fun... learning how dumb the French were in the past!  Up the mountain, boys!
2nd Period:  AP Senior English Maureen Smith 8:58-9:46AM This class is weird... we have more life discussions than we do Hamlet and Shakespeare.  Quite an interesting class.
3rd Period:  Symphonic Band Ron Crenshaw 10:12-11:06AM Welcome back to the band room.  This class is fun to a strange extent... but that's what happens when you're with 50 other strange kids.  *laughs*
4th Period:  Physics Eric Magi 11:42-12:34PM My teacher in there is as cynical as I am.  You should SEE the matches we get into.  Physics is some strange stuff to study, specifically Einstein's Theories.
5th Period:  Exploring Technology Willie Johnson 12:40- 1:34PM What can I say?  This is also one of my favorite classes, seeing as I get done early every assignment.  Free time + Shawn + net = happiness.
6th Period:  Spanish Lori Orr 1:40-2:30PM Mi clase finale es espanol.  La clase es muy divertido, y Professora Orr es estupendemente!  (I'm gonna be mean, I will not translate that.  *L*)

A Year Of Music (And a Lifetime of Memories)

The Rogers High School Band Room

This has been my home for four years, my home away from home.  I have slept here, I have eaten here, I have changed here (numerous times thanks to Marching Band), I have laughed and cried here, I have done everything here.  This is my home away from home.

The Schedule of a Band Member at Rogers:

Last Two Weeks of August:  Summer Marching Camp Begins.  Students learn how to march, and they start learning the field show.

September:  Working hard and staying strong!  The first field show is in Pasco or Kennewick.  Either way, it's Tri-Cities.  Time to continue to work hard and to earn those trophies.  (Last Year, Rogers High Took first in the division, and fourth overall in the whole show.  We picked up a trophy and six plaques for different captions!)

October:  Marching is THE thing!  Another field show, the Spokane Lilac Northwest Marching Championships.  Work continues to be inserted on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  (Last Year, Rogers took 2nd place in the AA division and sixth overall in the whole show.)

November:  Our last marching performance is in Auburn, at the Veteran's Day performance, which includes a parade.  (Rogers picked up complete first at the Parade, and first in the division, fifth overall at the Field Show, and third overall for combined!)  We then continue on to the end of the month, with All-City performance for select members!

December:  A time of rest (thankfully).  December does hold our Winter Concert for the bands.  It is also time to get ready for Pep Band!

January:  Pep Band Season is here!  Hopefully, our basketball team actually plans to play well...  also, this is the time to start getting ready for musical season.

February:  The end of basketball season is here, AND musical is closing in.  Also during this month is Jazz Ensemble performance at Spokane Falls Community College for the annual Spokane Jazz Fest.

March:  Musical Month.  Pit Orchestra gets to shine at five different performances.  This month also houses the "Solo and Ensemble" festival here in Spokane, for a chance for a soloist, duet, trio, or even a sextet to gain awards!

April:  Group Ensemble headlines the month of April, where Eastern Washington University usually takes control.  Also during this month is Eastern Washington University's Honor Band, featuring members from 5 different states.  April is also prep time for the parade.

May:  Practices are starting to wind up for the Spokane Lilac Torchlight Parade.  The band gets to march about three miles, winding through streets, playing the parade song.  The last concert of the year is also held during the month of March, as well a jazz festival and numerous other gigs.  May is one of the busiest months.

June:  Wind-down.  The underclassmen get ready for graduation performance.  The seniors get to say goodbye (like me this year... *sigh*).  The Underclassmen also start preping next year's marching song...

July:  Underclassmen:  Practice!  Practice!  Practice!

First Two Weeks of August:  More practice!  And more sun!
