Here is the Command structure of ranks
and responsabilities within the Angry Targets:
Organization:
The Angry Targets are not your typical mercenary
unit. unlike many mercs, their unit is not built of owner operators. The
mechs and combat equipment are
owned by the Target's employers and assigned to
the unit commanders. As such, the pilots of the regiment can not just
take their equipment and go work for
someone else. The commnders and pilots do have the
right to upgrade and augment their equipment as they see fit within their personal
commands and as they
can afford.
Personal Commands:
Most Command Officers were trained orignally
by the Mansakura Brothers corporate system then given permission to raise and
lead a lance level formation.
These lances work within the structure of the
larger unit to achieve the mission. These units are referred to as a "Personal
Command".
Regimental Command:
Like the tribes of the ancient British isles,
the Angry Targets do not have a permenant command structure beyond their personal
commands. Some commands
have "allied" themselves into an organized
company structure. Command leadership of those units is dealt with internally.
For this reason, the regiment has no
rank of "Major". The step from a smaller command
to "Global" leadership is done through an election of the Command Officers of
the Angry Targets. The
Command officers of all the personal commands
gather to vote in a regimental commander and this is why this unit has no rank
of "Colonel". The position of
Commander can be held only by an officer
who was a Command Officer previous to being elected, and that officer retains
personal command of their original
unit(personal command becomes the Command
Lance or Command Company depending on its size).
Any command structure thast exists between
the levels of the Personal Commands and the over all commander are strictly
at the whim, and designed by, the
chosen offiicer. Thus, demoting
one commander and replacing that officer could drastically change the composition
of the regiment.
Similarly to being raised up to regimental command,
the Commander can be removed from that office by a vote of the Command officers
of the regiment.
(NOTE: Should the regiment further refine its
structure to include formal "Company" formations, a rank of Major will be instituted.
Further, should the Angry
Targets expand to multi-regimental size,
the rank of Colonel will be instituted as a Regimental command rank with the
Angry Targets Commander presiding over
the regiemental colonels.)
Regimental Rank Structure:
Regimental Command:
Commander, Leader of all Angry Targets units
Administrative Rank:
Lieutenant Commander, Assistant to Targets Commander(NOTE: position does
not promote to Commander)
Battalion Command:
Captain, Commander of a Battalion of Targets Troops
Company Command:
Given the flexible structure of the Angry Targets, there is no specific Compnay
level command rank Where Companies have formed, the
commander of that company will
be a First Lieutenant. An exception to this rule would be infantry companies
where they exist.

troops will be promoted, in order of the most experienced first, when their
commanding officer is promoted or lost.
Field Promotions:
A decision may be made by a ranking officer when the commander of a lesser unit
is lost or incapacitated.
At
that time, a selected warrior is promoted to command of that unit in the fallen
officer's place.
A
unit commander may designate a particular warrior under their command to be
that unit's XO.
A designated XO will automatically receive field promotion should the designating
officer become incapacitated.
Field grade promotions are only honored until the unit can withdraw from combat
to a safe position unless confirmed after combat by the
proper officer corp.
