Akira
The story is set in Neo-Tokyo in the year 2019, A.D after the holocaust of World War III. The Olympics are expected to take place in Neo-Tokyo the following year. The motorcycle gang of "healthy, juvenile delinquents" race through the city led by Kaneda.
An unusual looking boy, Takashi, suddenly appears in front of them and Tetsuo, Kaneda's best friend, is hurt by a boy's paranormal powers. As a result, Tetsuo is institutionalized in a military hospital. During his hospitalization, the military Colonel and doctor discover Tetsuo's own hidden power and transfer him into the laboratory to perform power awakening experiments. What will happen to Tetsou and his ever-growing power?
Picture Quality
As you have probably heard this is one of the greatest film of all anime time. It was the most expensive film of its time. The animation is very good. Just take a look at the night time scenes. The colour scheme is very different to the normal anime film. Katsuhiro Otomo (director) was the original person who created the comic book fantasy 'Akira'. He spent as much money as he could on his budget.
Sound
The sound is at its best quality. The music director Geinoh Yamashirogumi is a well sort out artist. Trust me once you listen to the soundtrack you will wish to add it to your collection.
