The Basics...
First things first, you want a name: Shae, short for Shannon Elisabeth, is fine, but I'm easy-going, I'll answer to pretty much anything I recognize. Want a picture? No you don't. I'll just describe myself. I'm 5'8" with dark auburn brown hair (highlighted) cut short like Sarah McLachlan's, and green eyes. It's not that important that you know how I look, so if you still don't have a mental picture, let's move on.
Location, location, location...mine is Vancouver, BC, Canada, luckily enough for me. No, you're not dreaming - it was the location (until the end of the 1998 season) of the X-Files episodes. I have watched several episodes film, among them: Oubliette, Jose Chung's From Outer Space, Talitha Cumi, Redux and The End. Redux was actually filmed at my mum's workplace, the Justice Institute of BC, which served as the Department of Defence Building in the episode. Check out my brushes with the X-Files in Close Encounters of the "X" Kind.
Think that's my only claim-to-fame? Not so! I have also been an extra on Millennium four times. The first, an episode - called "Weeds" was freezing because it was filmed in November. Look for me in the funeral scene if you're into that. I have long hair then and look about 11, but that's okay. You only see me for a split second, looking down (I'm the dead boy's sister, along with a little girl who was about 7). It was a pretty hurting episode, but I was on TV, which was cool enough as it is, and I had a lot of fun.
I've also been called for Millennium to have my picture taken as some missing high school senior in a picture that my parents have submitted to the police. Not too talent-provoking: all I did was stand there and smile while the photographer took my picture to show "happier times" before I was kidnapped. And they paid me as a 'special skill' - can you believe that?? Not that I'm complaining or anything :o), I just didn't know it was a special skill to stand there and smile. It was so much fun though. The episode was called "A Room Without a View" and they didn't even end up using my picture, but it was fun knowing I did that.
In August, I was an extra in a pep-rally scene where we're all cheering for the basketball team and when the principal comes out and gives his speech about Warrior pride, yadda yadda, he gets shot. A sniper starts taking out kids in the stands including a cheeleader and stuff and I was just a background person panicking. It was fun, though. I'm in the third row of the bleachers. Very cool. The episode is called "TEOTWAWKI" (The End Of The World As We Know It) and it aired on October 16th. Check out the official Millennium site for details. You could see me fairly clearly four or five times and a couple more times that only I would be able to tell it was me (ie: my butt as I ran by the shot cheerleader).
Interests, hmmm...you mean besides the X-Files? My second home is Blackcomb, Whistler. Go there on your next vacation, it is so cool. I looove to snowboard (go Ross...Canada rocks!), and I can ski, too. It's easier than it looks - try it! Acually, let me rephrase that: try it, but take a lesson - I learned this after spending an entire day on my ass doing nothing but knocking myself out and chasing my runaway snowboard. Other than snowboarding, I love acting, softball, soccer, music (especially Sarah McLachlan), movies (hello to Stephy my movie buddy!) and I can speak a little Japanese too. I have just recently started kickboxing because I saw it on Ally McBeal and it looks like so much fun! It's a great workout which allows me to be addicted to Mocha and Rhumba Frappuccinos.
I've decided that that new show "Felicity" is going to fill the gaping void that was left when "My So-Called Life" was cancelled. Other shows I enjoy? Friends, That 70's Show, ER, Party of Five and Dawson's Creek.
