Jesus is the Only Way

To say that there is only
one way to get to heaven is pretty narrow minded, don't you think?

Yes, it is a narrow viewpoint, but that is exactly what Jesus taught. He taught that there is only one way, the narrow way. There will only be a few who find their way to eternal life.

Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Who is Jesus?
Colossians 2: 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

You don't have to rely on your emotions to believe in Jesus either. There is allot of evidence. There is historic evidence, prophetic evidence, and now there is mathmetical evidence with discovery of the bible code. If you have not investigated these things, I would encourage you to do some searching for yourself. For the purposes of this study, I will keep it short. I will work on the assumption that you already believe the basics. The purpose here is to emphasize that not all religions are created equal. The religion of Jesus Christ teaches that there is only one way to achieve eternal life... and that is through Him. Not Buddha, not Mohammed, not New Age Religion, not by being a "good" person, not anything, not any way but Him!

My friend, George Dow wrote the following lesson.
I have included parts of it here.

JUST WHO DOES THIS JESUS FELLOW
THINK HE IS ANYWAY?
By George Dow

JOHN 14:6 JESUS SAITH UNTO HIM, "I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE:    NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER BUT BY ME."

That is a very definitive statement. It was not meant to be misunderstood. Despite what the world message, that all religions are alike, and who wants the world interpreting the Bible anyway, Christianity stands alone as unique.

We see here, that Jesus was speaking to the Apostle Thomas about himself. He gave a good three point sermon, with an easily understood and definite conclusion. The fact is that most of the world hates Christ and his followers because of this statement. So what was he really saying?

I AM THE WAY.

First Jesus said, I am the way. The way to what or where? In the early days of the Church, the followers of Christ became known as the people of the way. This referred to the fact that they preached that they alone had the way of salvation. They obviously got that idea from this statement. Jesus said that he was THE way.

This is exemplified by Jacobs dream of the ladder to heaven. This dream showed a ladder reaching to heaven and that it was the route to the abode of God. Jesus says here that he is that ladder to heaven. He is not only THE way. He is THE ONLY way. Why? Because no one else has ever made such a statement. Therefore, if he alone made such a statement and backed it up with the power he exercised, then we may assume that he is the one and only WAY.

I AM THE TRUTH.

Truth is considered a relative term today. But is it? By relative term we mean that what seems to be true to you may not be necessarily true to me. I may believe that Jesus is the way, while someone else believes that Buddah is simply another path. So who's to say? The answer to that is, YOU. You are to say which religion is the true one. And I am not talking relativism either. What I mean is that you have a God given brain. Before you subscribe to a religion you should check it out thoroughly. That means that you don't take even the preacher's word on the subject.

A perfect example of this is Lew Wallace. He was a high ranking member of an American atheist group. He set out to disprove the Bible once and for all. His own research converted him to Christianity. He went into it with no presuppositions about Christ or the Bible. He trusted no one, questioned everything, and used his God given intelligence to find the evidence, sift it, and reach his own rational conclusions. He wrote Ben Hur after becoming a Christian to show the Jewish roots of Christianity....

I AM THE LIFE.

Thirdly he said I am the life. We take it to mean that he is the source of life. There would be no life, if there were no Jesus. The same John that recorded the statement we are looking at, also wrote in his first epistle I John 1: 1-3 that he and the others had discovered the very source of life itself. That source was, of course, Jesus Christ. ...

He says that he is the only way to God. He backs it up by doing things that we would expect God to do...

And finally, NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER BUT BY ME!

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end,
the first and the last."
...Jesus
