"ATCH" ATCHINSON

I (like all REAL musicians) had a pretty fucked up
life so I really don't know where to start.let's try
this. I was born in Ft. Riley, KS on April 25, 1979.
Although I spent my growing up years right outside of
Sorento, IL.  I think the very first time I tried to
play music was when I was 3 or 4. I would beat on
pots, pans, and plastic containers with wooden spoons.
Eventually my Mom married a guy who would become my
Father, a man that would have a very big influence to
my music.cool guy! I remember growing up to the music
of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Rush, E.L.O. and so
on. Then, out of nowhere, my Mom decided one day to
become a Psycho Christian, making all the music I was
already used to "devil music". It had to be Christian
or it wouldn't be in the house. My Dad, (being the
cool guy that he is), compromised with this and one
day brought me home a Christian Metal C.D. by a band
known as Stryper.it blew my fuckin' mind, the drums
were amazing to me. I can surely say that when I was
in 4th or 5th grade, they we're my favorite band. Then
one day when my Mom was at church, I was home alone
and listening the local St. Louis radio station KSHE
when Master of Puppets by Metallica came on.it changed
me. They instantly became, and still are, my favorite
band of all time, and my biggest influence. I
definitely got a taste of something that I would want
to be a part of.

When I was in Elementary School I toyed around with
the Trombone, as well as Percussion. I took that into
my High School years playing with the Marching Band
for about two years. Then came my 15th Christmas, and
my 1st drum kit. I constantly played, all the time, I
played what I saw other people play, I then played
what I heard people play, and I eventually played what
I wrote. I widened my horizons and got more
influences, from 2-Pac to Cradle of Filth. I started
playing with my uncle in a band called Angelreign, it
was kind of a true Rock and Roll band, we record a
C.D. then I left the band, enough said. Then I started
a band called Hallow, which would become Habitual. It
was closer to the style I was looking for, but not
quite, it lasted about a year. Then I met Vince, Bill,
and Lance. Who, with me, would become Tryptophane
shortly after. Tryptophane is everything that I dreamt
about, and now it's finally here, I can honestly say
that this is what I'm meant for.
