Sailing Regatta at TS Adelaide December 2001

 

 Sailing Regatta at TS Adelaide (1 and 2 December 2001)

 

 

  

TS Adelaide conducted a Sailing Regatta with all of the 8 Australian Navy Cadet Units participating.  Cadets and Staff travelled from Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Port Augusta, Mount Gambier, Renmark and there are 3 Metro Units to join in this Annual Event. 

The trophies for the Sailing Regatta were presented by selected members of the community.  

The day was great with Cadets from all Units joining in the fun down on the Port River.   The Cadets cheered and chanted for their respective Units.   A fun day was had by all who participated.

The following results were attained by the heavily contested competition :

Mr Stan Nicholls presented the Trophies to the 3rd position winners as follows :

TS Stuart - "A" Class
TS Gambier - "B" Class

Mr Harley Doyle presented the Trophies for the 2nd position winners as follows :

TS Noarlunga - "A" Class
TS Augusta - "B" Class

Mr Dudley Goodwin presented the Trophies for the 1st position winners as follows :

TS Flinders - "A" Class
TS Flinders - "B" Class

 

The overall Sailing Shield was won by

"TS Flinders"

and was presented by The Senior Naval Officer for South Australia
Commander Neil Phillips

 

 

 

The Commander Chris White Perpetual Trophy for
the most enthusiastic Cadet attending the Annual Sailing Regatta went to


Cadet Ashley Cummings of "TS Flinders"

and was presented by The Senior Naval Officer for South Australia
Commander Neil Phillips

 

A disco was held at the TS Adelaide Cadet Unit on the Saturday night after the Sailing Regatta and the Cadets all had a great time.
