Shooting Camp held at TS Stuart - 7 to 10 June 2002

TS Adelaide attended the Shooting Camp at TS Stuart on 7th to 10th June 2002, and it was a great success.

The first day kicked off with the Cadets getting issued with their bunks and unpacking their belongings, and the Cadets were alloted their Divisions either Port or Starboard.  The Cadets then had free time until lights out which was at 11.30 pm.

The Cadets on the camp cooked for over 110 Staff and Cadets.  They prepared the meals from Spaghetti Bolognaise to Roast Beef and Roast Pork with a variety of vegetables.  The cooks woke up at 5.45 am and the Cadets were woken up at  6.00 am each morning.   As soon as the Cadets were up and showered they had their breakfast, the Divisions would go one at a time to the shooting range, at Edinburgh Air Base for the commencing of the annual fight for the shooting trophies.  After a fun filled weekend of shooting, galley mitts catching on fire and lovely rain hovering over continuously it was time for the trophies to be presented.

Top Shot (Best Shooting Score Average) was presented to :

CPO Clark Tainsh from TS Adelaide

Second Place went to :

PO Matthew Dallison from TS Stuart

Best Unit Shooting Trophy went to :

TS Stuart (once again managing to keep the trophy for another year)

The camp was great fun, besides the weather but even though it was raining it didn't dampen our spirits or enthusiasm.   Thank you TS Stuart for running another successful camp for the Cadets of South Australia.
