Australian Navy Cadets Unit and Cadet Awards (1 December 2002)

Cadet of the Year Award

Commander John Parkin and Commander Coulson presented the "Cadet of the Year Award".    Commander John Parkin said "As I travelled around the Units, Commander Coulson and I interviewed the Units nominations for the Award of the Cadet of the Year.  I must say that I was amazed and pleased at the calibre and standard of these Cadets and choosing only one of them as Cadet of the Year has been extremely difficult."

Cadet of the Year for 2002

Petty Officer Sarah Gorman "TS Sturt" Berri

The Cadet of the Year wins a trip on the "One and All" courtesy of the Ships' Association for which the ANC is most grateful.  Major General Darryl Low-Choy presented the Shield to PO Gorman.

 

Most Improved Unit in South Australia

The Most Improved Unit in South Australia was presented by Commander Parkin and went to :


"TS Gambier"

and the Navy League of Australia (SA Branch) Annual Efficiency Shield was presented by Major General Darryl Low-Choy, and the Shield went to :


"TS Sturt"
