In the Beginning

A friend you were when I was in need.
Holding me though the bad times,
Laughing with me in the good.
Wiping away the tears that were shed for love,
Replacing them with the warmth of your heart.
While in your arms that hold me close
I find that each day our love grows.
Within it is the strength and the courage
To make it though each day.
I discover you are in my thoughts
Though out the days and into the nights.
Dreaming of giving to you
The gift of my undying love and trust.
I kneel before you today proudly,
Eyes lowered in submission
Bestowing the most precious treasure I own,
I entrust to you my heart and my soul
I will cherish our moments in life
I will honor you beyond the stars
I will trust in you like no other before.
