Ida Belle Dupy was born in 1860 in Lee county, Iowa. She and her brother Frank were both brought up by their grandparents as Sarah Jane must have died shortly after Frank was born. According to information given by step-sisters, Enoch didn't want to be burdened with raising two small children, so he went to Illinois. Ida Belle married Lucius D. Argo on October 15, 1879 in Sangamon county, Illinois. She and Lucius had three daughters: Eva Argo, Ethel Argo who married Henry Faust, and Olga Argo who married Frank Foster. It is known that Ida Belle was living in Auburn, Sangamon county, Illinois when her brother, Frank died in 1922. When she died is unknown. |

Frank Dupy was born March 4, 1866 in Macoupin county, Illinois and died on February 4, 1922 in Virden, Macoupin county, Illinois. He married Catherine Skehan on March 1, 1892 in Illinois. She was born in 1862 and died on August 31, 1935 in Peoria, Illinois. They had one daughter, Genevieve Dupy, born August 30, 1894 in Virden, Macoupin county, Illinois and she died in 1945 at Lincoln, Nebraska. Enoch and Sarah Jane had evidently moved to Macoupin county prior to Frank's birth. The two children must have been returned to Iowa prior to 1870 as they are listed on the 1870 census with John and Mary (McGriff) Dupy and their children. Frank had quite a reputation in the family. According to legend (I have no fact to substantiate this), Frank ran a tavern in Virden and the step sisters never associated with either Frank or Ida Belle. According to one of the step-sisters, Ida Belle was a very beautiful young woman |
