So you want to start electrolysis. This is another very important step on the road to permanency in the feminine role. Well here are the definitions: Electrology is the science of permanent hair removal utilizing only solid needle/probe devices. A fine sterile needle/probe is inserted into the hair follicle and a small amount of electrical energy is discharged which destroys the hair growth tissue. When this is competently and skillfully accomplished, the regenerative ability of the hair follicle is permanently eliminated Electrolysis --- Direct current (DC), is used to achieve chemical destruction of the hair follicle. One or more sterile needles/probes are used.Thermolysis --- Alternating current (AC), sometimes referred to as high frequency or short wave, is used to create heat, which destroys the hair follicle. One sterile needle/probe is used. The Blend (also Dual Modality) --- Both of the above currents are used simultaneously or sequentially to achieve dual action destruction of the hair follicle. Most often, a single sterile needle/probe is used for this procedure. I could not do the laser hair removal because my beard was too light colored and mixed with red, blond, and light brown. I chose a electolysist that uses the Thermolysis method which seems to work well for me. The other thing I looked for was someone I was comfortable with. Susan M. is very good and is easy to get along with. She has also worked on many other TSs before me and is very fast. They key to making electrolysis work is keeping up on it. By in blocks of time it can save you up to 25% off the total cost if you were to pay for it hour by hour. One other thing is to show up on time so that you can get your full session in. It is also important to have a topical painkiller since this is a very painful process. Personally I use an EMLA cream which prescription only. You can also go to a dentist and get a shot of lidocaine or there is even a 5% lidocaine patch that is made by edo laboratories. Both are prescription as well. When looking for an electrolysist I would recommend talking to other Ts or going to a local T support group and see whom they recommend in your area.
If you have any recommendations for electrolysists or personal descriptions pf experiences pleas forward them to us and we will post them. |
