Make Up - Some Hints, Tips and Golden Rules

Hi all! I have often been asked how I do my makeup! Well to be honest that is not an easy question to answer, I mean what would you say if someone asked you how do you put clothes on in the morning! Well the answer is the same You just do it!

But I know that this doesn’t help, so what I have tried to do is make up (pardon the pun) a list of golden rules and tips for wearing make-up.

What I think is Golden Rule number one is remember YOU ARE NOT COCO THE CLOWN, so you don’t need to wear as much make up as him, a little goes an awful long way and your aim really should be to use as little as possible! There are two common sense reasons for this number one you will look more natural and your chances of passing are obviously increased, and secondly you will use less make-up and therefore save money!

A tip I would recommend is to invest in a decent foundation. Remember the foundation covers the whole of the face and therefore is the most obvious and seen make-up you wear. So it makes sense to make sure it is a decent one, there are obviously lots of different products on the market, but the one I would recommend is Max Factor! I would try and avoid really thick foundations such as dermablend, unless you have a particulary heavy beard shadow problem, as they are too clumpy and thick and tend to look like Bob the builder has been to work on your face with his Polyfiller!

Another Golden rule is DON’T WEAR REALLY BRIGHT COLOURS they only make you look tarty and obvious and if you make a mistake with bright make-up it shows up a lot more than if you are using subtle shades! However one really bright red lipstick is a must, but don’t wear it during the day!
