On day five of the trek guide Gary caught a baby Tamarin monkey (approx three months old). We named him Titi (Teetee) after the type of Tamarin he is. Our original intention was to take a few photos and immediately return him to his mother. Unfortunately we could not find the group he belonged to after ten minutes. So we adopted him and accompanied us for the remainder of our trek. Domesticated after only a few days Titi was a constant source of amusement. Not only did he eat his regular diet of fruit but meat as well -- like pig and armidillo. In the picture above he is eating a piece of spider-monkey which led me to dub our little friend Titi the Cannibal. Below is his preferred method of travel. Clinging to my hair simulated his mother's warmth and softness.
