Probably taken at Cobb Bridge. We did several "betterment" projects while were there.  And that's probably what they are doing here.  Filling sandbags and digging a bunker.

Standing on the far left is Jim Tyler, sitting facing the camera is Frank Rodriquez, standing facing the camera is Milt Golden, standing sideways to the camera is Gary Williamson, standing on the far right is Jack Lackey.

Jack would be killed by a booby-trap close to Tugboat on July 10, 1969.

Probably taken around Cobb Bridge.

Just out patrolling, which we did endless amounts of.

Patrols and ambushes pretty much defined our days.

From left to right: Milt Golden, Unknown, Mark Romander.

You would see these little buses pretty often.  They only had 3 wheels.  The load this one is carrying is about typical as I remember things, jammed full.  You'd see vast mounds of things tied all over them and 12-15 people in them.  Don't know what size engine they had but whatever it was it was vastly underpowered for the loads they carried.

The woman in white is wearing what is called an "Ao Dia" which means 'long shirt'.

Frank Rodriquez probably getting ready to go out on a patrol.  Frank is carrying a can of machine gun ammo.  Most grunts carried on whereever we went.

They were a bitch to carry.  Since they weighed several pounds it made your load lopsided.  It could get to be a real strain on your back.

Here's another view of the bus.  You can see how full it is.  And you can get an idea of its size by comaring it to the Marines by it.
