Milt Golden at either LZ Ross or Baldy in November 1969.

Jim Tyler in front and Jim Reynolds in the rear.

Tyler is carrying an M-14.  Not a lot of us used this weapon.  Weight was a consideration.  Not only did the rifle weigh more but the ammo did too.  The additionl weight could be considerable.

Sammy Sullivan.  He was wounded in October 1969 in the Que Son Mountains.

Look at the muzzle of his rifle.  There is a ring around the end.  It kept the muzzle from snagging on brush and vines.  Sounds like a small thing but it really helped.

Jim "Popeye" Reynolds.

His rifle doesn't have the muzzle ring.  They could be a real pain in brush.  But you clould open a case of C-rations with them.  The cases had wire around them.  If you put the slots on the rifle muzzle on the wire and twisted the wire would break.  Probably played hell with the barrel though.
