Taken at Hill 22.  Probably in early 1969, before March 2, 1969.

The Marine on the left is Larry Rouse and he was wounded March 2nd at the junction of he Hill 22 road and the road that ran to Dia La Pass.

Notice the P-38 can opener on his dog tag chain.  I think just about everyone had one there.

The little sign just above his left shoulder reads, "Sex In Vietnam."

It was my observation (observation - not experience I'd like to point out) that sex in Vietnam was mostly financial in nature.  Reasonably priced, to be sure.  A half-and-half had risen to $2.00 by 1969.

A successfull prostitute could easily make more than a  college professor, of so I've been told.

Two views of the coast of Vietnam taken from the USS Tripoli, probably in the fall of 1968.  If you look at the skyline of the furthest hills you can see that they were taken at almost the same time.

This is probably north of Danang.  Most of the shoreline (as I remember things anyway) south of Danang was extremely flat.  As you went north the hills started to come down to the sea.

Jerry Muceous talking to an old man, probably in the Nam-o village/Hill 190 area.  According to Doug Mohr Jerry was an ace at gathering information.
