What is the TSM? THE TORONTO STUDENT MOVEMENT (The Marxist-Leninist Party Club at the University of Toronto) is an organization of students, faculty and staff at the University who are aspiring Marxist-Leninists. The MLPC is for those who are seriously interested in the Communist Party of Canada(Marxist-Leninist) and it can be the first step in joining CPC(M-L) - officially registered as the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada. Aim of the TSM The overall aim of TSM is to organize students, faculty and staff at the University of Toronto to become Marxist-Leninists and thereby contribute to the creation of the subjective conditions for revolution. The immediate aim of TSM is to participate in raising the prestige of politics by seeking cooperation between all political formations at UofT towards this end. The immediate practical program of TSM is:
Where to find the TSM We are located on the St. George Campus of the University of Toronto, in the new Sussex Clubhouse. Our office is on the fourth floor, number 410, which we share with the Afghan Students Association. We have regular office hours from 3-5pm on Tuesdays, and 2-5pm on Thursdays. Our weekly meetings take place in the Meeting Room on the fourth floor, room 415, unless otherwise noted. Also, we usually have literature and sign-up table set up in Sidney Smith on Tuesdays from 12-2pm. What are the Marxist-Leninist Party Clubs (MLPCs)? The Marxist-Leninist
Party Clubs (MLPCs) are registered clubs at various universities across
Canada. They are open to students, faculty and staff who are aspiring
Marxist-Leninists. Those who have expressed interest in the activities
of the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist), registered for election
purposes as the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada, or in joining the Party,
should join the MLPC. The MLPCs organize the Marxist-Leninist Study Group (MLSG), a study program on key aspects of Contemporary Marxist-Leninist Thought. The Clubs collaborate with the Hardial Bains Resource Centre (HBRC) at the National Office of CPC(M-L) which provides study material to the MLSG. If you require specific materials to help you with your courses or your life, the MLPCs, in collaboration with the HBRC, can assist you to compile the information you require. The MLPCs also take part in political actions which advance the cause of the working class and other sections of the people and to develop political culture on campus. Whatever serves the Historic Initiative of CPC(M-L) to prepare Canada to enter the new century on the basis of opening society's path to progress and involving the students, faculty and staff in nation-building will be supported by the MLPCs. With this aim, the MLPCs also actively assist the Youth Organizing Project (YOP), young workers and high school students to build a bright future for themselves, including helping them in the production and distribution of their newspaper, Voice of Youth. Towards the realization
of its aim the MLPCs have organized many activities for this academic
year. If you want to participate in developing the work of these extremely
active campus clubs, or help in organizing similar activities of your
own, let us know. For more infromation email the Communist Youth Union
