William Davis was the son of Elijah Davis born in 1840 in Cass County Illinois. He married Louisa Dobson also of Illinois. William and Louisa Davis are buried in Wills Cem, Cass Co., Missouri. I think they moved to Missouri in 1878. Another William Davis family was also found earlier on this same page and is included below. I am unsure as to how this family fits in as the calculated year of birth for this William Davis from the listing is 1820. Edward Davis, son of James B Davis was born in 1820 in Kentucky, presumed to be Jessamine Co., KY and I had not considered any possibility that he might have had a twin brother but the material I had originally obtained did list Willliam Davis as a son of James B Davis but have no information on him. This family was not listed on 1850 Census for Cass County. There were two listed for 1850 but neither of them were this same family. For now I am undecided as to how the William Davis shown below fits in.
