He must have been born between Jun and Dec of 1785 to account for difference in age calculation. In 1850 the Census page James B Davis was on was conducted in Dec of 1850 and James B Davis had allready had his birthday that year and was 65 years old. In 1860 the Census page James B Davis was on was conducted in Jun of 1860 and James B Davis had not yet had his birthday and was still 74 years old. This is the source for the statement for his birthday being between Jun and Dec of 1785.
