This is a photo of Edward Davis the son of James B Davis and Elizabeth (Hawkins)Davis. Edward was born near Lexington, Kentucky on 22 Mar 1820 and died on 16 July 1909 in Cass County, Virginia, Illinois. He came to Cass County in 1835. Siting by him is his wife Julia Ann Davis They were married 1 Nov 1838 in Cass County. She is the daughter of James Davis, born in Kentucky, and Elizabeth (Foster)Davis, born in Tennessee. Both James Davis families lived on nearby farms and came to Illinois from Kentucky. Both photographs graciously provided by Mrs. Sue Schaeffer of Springfield, Illinois.
