Photo is of my Great Great Grandmother Alice Lavonia (Soapes)Cockerill. I think the photo was taken near Hamby, Texas just outside Abilene, Texas. I have no idea when this photo was taken. I do vagely remember the house she is standing in front of. I do not know that she lived in Hamby but think she was probably visiting her daughter Fannie May Jennings in Hamby when this was taken. Mr. Towles of California said she lived in Oklahoma, probably in or around Clinton, Oklahoma. I think Jonie Philey(Jennings) is on the far right in the photo mostly out of view. Jonie was Alice L Cockerill's grandaughter, and daughter of Fannie May Jennings and Eli Jennings and my Grandmother's younger sister. I do remember Jonie and husband J. P. or Jonie and Jeep as we called them visiting with Grandmother and Grandfather near Lockney, Texas while growing up. Jonie could play the piano very well and enjoyed entertaining the family when we were kids.
