Copy of portion of pages for 1820 US Census, Jessamine County, Kentucky

Copy of portions of pages.

Select portions of the 1820 Census for Jessamine County Kentucky. Note page numbers noted are Heritage Quest CD Page Numbers and do not agree with actual page numbers on the census. James Davis is listed on Page 83 of the CD but in handwriting on top right 75 is written just after 72 which is struck out (crossed through). As in the 1810 Census the surname Davis was spelled differently. In this case it was spelled Daviss for all the Davis surnames in Jessamine County for this year. This is a spelling the Assistant Marshal Mr. Walker used for the name Davis. For this year aligning the colums is difficult to be sure so I assume this is James B Davis family. Also interestingly Acy Davis, son of Benjamin Davis and grandson of James Conway Davis is probably listed as Asy instead of Acy Davis as shown. Mr. Ray Janes however indicated that it isn't the Acy Davis I had in mind as he located him somewhere else during 1820 and was not in Jessamine County. Hannah (Gaines) Davis the widow of Charles Davis who also was a son of James Conway Davis is also listed on the census for 1820.

This is another clip of same reference and has an inset from yet another reference I think has been resconstructed for on-line web use through Ancestry.com as the original reads the same but its appearance is much different.
