This is photo of where my Grandparents farm house once stood. The house was sold and moved to Lockney. It was falling down and suffering from the elements and vandalism when granddad had to move into Lockney before he passed away. Jerry Davis told me the irrigation dried up and the farm is now dry, except for a weak water source at granddad's old place. Jerry bought that fourty acres and it is the only remaining portion of the land he now farms. All the farmers in that area moved out after the water table went dry. Apparently the irrigation table is not dry a few miles away there are quite a few farmers still using that water source. This area is north of Lockney, Texas in the Plainview area, about 2 miles from Sterley, Texas.
