Topography of Noah’s flood.  The bible says in Genesis that the flood depth reached as high as fifteen cubits higher than the highest hill.  I think that means the highest mountain was only fifteen cubits beneath the highest water level of the flood.  I also assume that the topography back then was not the same as it is today.  For example, mount Arrarat now just shy of seventeen thousand feet in altitude was probably lower back then, it is volcanic.  Also mount Everest being currently about twenty-nine thousand feet may have been lower.

My guess is that the bible passage in Genesis that indicated the flood was fifteen cubits higher than the highest mountain top probably means the flood at its height reached what is now about six miles in altitude or whatever height the tallest mountain was back then and I’d guess that mount Everest was still the highest in altitude.

All manner of interesting questions arise such as what did he feed the animals and where did he gather non-perishable food for the animals.  What did the

Carniverous animals eat?  Milk?  Did he bring fishing nets along on the ark to feed any fish catch to the appropriate animals?  How did he gather the animals from around the world or did God do it for him.  If there was a South America then how did the animals unique to South America get to Noah’s ark on a different continent.  Also included in that question is the animals from Australia.  How did they get across the ocean if they were not ocean mamals like wales.

Also God waited to start the flood untill Methuselah died.    Methuselah lived 969 years, Gen 5.27.  Methuselah lived 187 years and begat Lamech, Gen 5.25.  Lamech lived 182 years and begat Noah, Gen 5.28 – 29.  Methuselah was 369 years old when Noah was born.   The flood came when Noah was 600 years old, Gen 7.11.  Methuselah was 969 years old and died and then God brought the great flood when he died.  I heard this from a TV sermon Rev Billy Graham taught quite a numbers of years back that I saw on TBN and checked it out in scriptures referenced here and verified it as scripturally supported or based.  Methuselah must have found more grace in God’s eyes than being granted such a long life as God waited for him to die before he destroyed all flesh from the earth except Noah and his family.
