APPEARANCE: The Alchemist is an attractive woman who stands 5' 6".  She has an athletic build, short blonde hair and brown eyes.  Originally she had no set costume, but now she wears mystic robes, a protective mask that prevents her from succumbing to the effects of her own concoctions, as well as special dispensers mounted on her wrists.

BACKGROUND: The Alchemist is a member of the Alvares clan, a family of sorcerers who have practiced the art of alchemy for hundreds of years.  Unlike most of her family The Alchemist is an extrovert and loves to show off her talents, as well as turn a profit from them.

It is not known precisely when The Alchemist formed an alliance with the other members of the Circle of Sorcery.

It was revealed that The Alchemist was also the hero Witches' Brew.  She had been placed within High Justice as a mole.  Only she found herself growing to like the members of the team and became a hero in reality.  With the break up of High Justice it is unknown at this time where she is.

PERSONALITY: The Alchemist is a thrill seeker.  She does the villain thing for money and kicks.  However, she places a high loyalty on friendship and family and will do almost anything to help a team mate or relative, or avenge a slight done them.

POWERS: The Alchemist has no powers per se, but employs a series of chemical concoctions to aid her in her crimes.  She has flash bombs, concussion bombs, gas bombs and tanglers.  She wears a suit of flexible armored weave to afford her some protection.  The Alchemist is also a competent martial artist, and is an experienced actress and can disguise herself rather well.

The Alchemist appears to be an expert chemist and alchemist.  It is known that on at least one job she infiltrated a McNeil Chemicals facility posing as an industrial chemist.  By some fluke the job turned out to last longer than intended and she wound up getting promoted...twice!  She wound up scoring a new patent for McNeil for a more efficient and bio-degradable paint thinner but then the original job intervened and she "tendered her resignation".

As Witches' Brew The Alchemist used slightly different devices, and shied away from magical potions.  All of her devices were easily explained by science.
