BACKGROUND: Life had never been easy for Garth.  Openly gay and a mutant to boot, he had suffered prejudice from an early age.  At first he saw strife as a challenge to be overcome.  He had become Arc, the first (openly) gay super hero.  Operating in San Francisco, he had become an inspiration to homosexuals everywhere.  But then he was framed by unknown enemies and he was accused of taking payoffs to ignore certain criminal dealings.  Arc went from being a symbol to a pariah.

What does a former super hero do for a living?  Sadly enough, many turn to crime.  The same happened to Garth, who desperately needed the money.  At first he tried to be low key, but every crime he committed had his unique signature-electrical powers.  Soon he was a fugitive, hated by the community and despised by the villains he had fought.

One day he was robbing a bank and ran into another paranormal.  Thinking that it was a super hero trying to take him down he fought her, not realizing until it was almost too late that she was trying to rob the same bank.  They ran off with the loot and decided to form a partnership.  Later they discovered a woman with sonic powers and the duo became a trio.

Amp is currently at large.

PERSONALITY: Like his partners Amp is a man with high hopes who has become bitter due to his circumstances.  Still in some ways a good man, he avoids violence when possible and to date has never taken a human life, a fact that he is proud of.  But in his world of violence it is only a matter of time...

POWERS:  Amp is able to generate electricity for a variety of effects.  He is able to discharge a bolt of electrical energy that can easily stun a normal man, or he can create tiny charges that can disrupt security systems, jump-start cars, and other useful tricks.  He can create an electrical force field that can help repel projectiles and some forms of energy and he can create an electrical arc that he can use to leap great distances-he calls it "riding the lightning".

APPEARANCE: Garth is a handsome man fighting off the effects of middle age.  His wavy blonde hair is starting to thin and he is slowly starting to develop a bit of a gut.  Still, he stays in relatively good shape and he has a winning, easy smile.

As Amp he wears a dark blue body suit with streaks of lightning slashing downward across his body from right to left.
