BACKGROUND: Sometimes the conspiracy theorists are right.

For example; a society of sorcerers who move unseen amongst us, their powers used for purposes both noble and petty.  Among the noble are a select few who attempt to protect the world, usually through agents.

Mr. Hang was one of these sorcerers.  Part of his duties included the formation of a super hero group known as 5th Power, augmenting the bumbling 4th power with a fifth member and getting them a job as defenders of Windsor, Ontario.  He created an artificial being known as Anne, who had the ability to mimic the powers of others.  There was not a great deal of personality to Anne but the longer she spent in the company of others the more "self" she developed.  Within a few months she was a true person.

After 5th Power disbanded Anne moved to San Diego to join The Pacific Guard.  It was here that she met her demise.  Or a metamorphosis.

The PGs were in combat with their old nemesis Riptide, a modern-day pirate.  Riptide attempted to use an experimental disintigration cannon against the team.  Analog had been mimicking Corona's powers and the two swept down for a strafing run on Riptide's submarine when the disintigrater went off.  Both women banked but Analog was caught in the blast.  It was as if a layer of her body had been peeled away from her and it fell into the Pacific.  In a rage Corona let loose with her full powers, blowing up the disintigrator and giving Riptide horrendous burns.  Deluge managed to rescue Analog and get her to shore.  Analog awoke, but to her shock she was powerless!

Unknown to Pacific Guard, some of Anne's mystical essence drifted out to sea and wound up off the shores of Hawaii, where a young girl named Eko Lau became exposed to it and developed powers similar to Analog's.  Unknown to them both they became mystically linked.  Eventually Analog's powers were restored by Mr. hang, and she returned to active duty.

Later, as the Tandians launched a massive vampiric assault upon The Pacific Guard's base, Analog knocked out team leader Gray Seal and compelled the others to leave her behind.  She cut open her vein to expose her blood, it's unique  properties drove the vampires mad with blood lust and now mindless, stormed the empty police station.  Analog then immolated herself and destroyed almost all the vampires as well as killing herself.

POWERS: Anne was able to mimic the powers and physical abilities of other people whose own powers are not derived from technological or magical devices.  She had been able to mimic mutant and magical abilities, from N.U.K.E.'s Megatomic powers to the vampiric strength of Baron Klaus von Straunheim.  But with the mimicry of powers also came the acquisition of the target's weaknesses as well.

Analog's mimicry was not entirely perfect; she was only able to create effects that were about 80% as powerful as their origin.  Also, she was only able to mimic one set of powers at a time; she could not use both N.U.K.E.'s raw power and Ultima's agility, for example.

Analog was able to mimic the powers of supernatural creatures, but could not employ magical spells.  So while she once mimicked Sand's coarse, tough skin she was not able to employ his various magical Earth powers.

Anne could not mimic the skills of other people, so if she were to mimic a martial artist's physical abilities she may take on his strength and reflexes, but not the inherent talent to best utilize them.  She also did not have the same control over powers that the original owners have so once she successfully mimicked a new set of powers she practiced with them extensively before employing them in the field.

PERSONALITY: Originally, Anne was a very naive, friendly girl who knew very little of the world.  Over time her life experiences allowed her to develop a strong sense of right and wrong, and a need for social justice.  In her spare time she championed numerous causes such as fighting cruelty to animals and illiteracy.  She developed a strong crush for Gray Seal and idolized him.

APPEARANCE: Anne has pale white skin, long straight white hair and pink eyes.  She has an etheral, almost alien beauty.  Her costume consists of a simple white jump suit.
