BACKGROUND: Josh had been a technical expert at Door Co. who had gone by the earlier alias Black Laser.  He was captured by authorities early in his career while “field testing” some equipment for his  superior.  He was cut loose and was sent to prison.  He made a break and laid low, and while he did so he came to a conclusion; governments and companies will screw you.  He decided to go freelance and discovered through the grapevine that  a woman named Permafrost was creating a super villain group.  He approached her with his gear and told her his background (who would have thought four years playing college hockey would pay off?).  Permafrost took an instant liking to his professional attitude, his skills, and his willingness to be a team player.  She signed him up immediately.

After a series of defeats at the hands of various super hero groups Josh decided to alter his equipment.  He created a suit of armor that afforded him greater protection as well as the ability to allow him to carry more effective firepower.  He now goes by the name Black Ice.

POWERS: Black Ice has no powers, they all come from his gear.  He uses a powerful laser gun that can either cut through almost any structure (or person) or blind a person for a short time.  He wears a suit of protective armor that affords him considerable physical protection, both from attacks and from extreme environmental conditions.  He has also designed a special set of ice skates that can be attached and detached from his boots at a moments notice.

PERSONALITY: Black Ice is very much a team player, he values loyalty very highly and will repay such loyalty with an equal measure.  He has a slight crush on team mate Flurry but does not dare approach her due to Frostbite's own crush on her.

APPEARANCE: Black Ice is an afro-American with short cropped hair and an athletic frame.  His armor is black, but a special refractive coating allows him to make the suit white at a moment's notice.  He also has a pair of ice skates that attach to his boots quickly.
