Heroes: Frostfyre, Havok, Paladin, Paragon, Vortex, Wolf

A couple weeks after Paragon's "brothers" and "sisters" were rescued Brother Muldoon, Paladin's spiritual advisor and mentor, arrived in town to check up on his former charge, seeing as how he was allied with a werewolf.  He met the team and his first impression of Wolf was quite positive.  Soon he situated himself in the neighboring estate with the Paragon refugees and became a source of strength and stability for them.

Meanwhile, Frostfyre's vision was continuing to degenerate with no way of rectifying the situation in sight.

Havok began to look for someone to spar against to improve his combat skills.  He determined the best person to work with was a former super villian called Platinum Blonde, who was out on parole and working as a server in a Chicago greasy spoon.  'Blonde agreed, mostly because the pay would be better.  The fact that she would also get to beat up a super hero and not get into trouble was a bonus.

But a new crisis served to interrupt the lives of the heroes.  An United States Army general named Miller called the group, informing them of a major crisis.  Soon his aide, lieutenant Quiver, showed up to give a face-to-face briefing, as Miller felt uncomfortable discussing the issue over any sort of line of communication.

The United States Navy had a facility located at the US Army's Fort Ironwood, in Michigan's Upper Pennisula.  There they maintained a ULF-Ultra Low Frequency-array set up. It was used to transmit secured message to USN submarines, sending signals through the Earth.  Hours earlier the Army based had been cut off from the outside world, surrounded by a black dome.  An Army Ranger unit was sent in, they failed to report back.  Also, it seemed a similar facility in the Ukraine was experiencing similar problems.  So rather than lose any other conventional forces, an appeal was made to The Vindicators to help.

The team, without Valiant (who was in Great Britain on personal business) agreed to aid the military and reached the base.  There they were more fully briefed.  The dome cut off all electrical and communication signals, and seemed impervious to light.  Within the team discovered the military personnel and civilians were parylizzed, and the Ranger team that preceded the Vindicators had been slain by monstrous horrors.  They discovered that the alien Styf, trapped within a kind of sub space, had been accidentally released during a special ULF test employing Styf technology.  The Styf, discovering that their race had lost and their mother ship had been destroyed, vowed revenge on Mankind by splitting the Earth in two.  But the Vindicators faced off against the foul aliens.  The climax happened when Vortex used a massive vacuum to suck a Humvee into the power plant building, smashing it into the emergency generators.  The ULF/alien hybrid device went off but at a fraction of it's potential power, and as a result the device generating the black dome was destroyed...as well as half the base itself and all but one of the aliens.  Other than some bumps and bruises, the Vindicators had come out of the chaos relatively whole...

INTERLUDE: Meanwhile, High Justice's Morrigan began to see her team mates succumbing to some sort of attack; their passions and faults were being amplified; Mustapha's lust, Grimoire and Felisomballa's lust for one another, Lionheart's despair were all being transformed into debilitating condtions.  And The Morrigan had no idea what to do to fight it...
