BACKGROUND: Jonathan Muldoon always wanted to be a monk.  As a young boy growing up in Cork he spent much of his free time reading the Bible and studying Biblical history.  That did not stop him from being an outstanding football, player, though, and had he not decided to attend the seminary he would have been snatched up by Arsenal in a second.

Jon joined the Jesuits; their more progressive attitudes in the fields of science and paranormals drew him to this society, and his interest in Biblical history now focused on the research of potential paranormals through history.  Jon prospered as a monk, although he sometimes clashed with more conservative church officials over scripture and theory.  His passion and strange sense of humor sometimes unsettled others but it was generally agreed he was am honest, loyal and faithful man with a off-center bent.  So when it was decided that the Church would take a more active hand in the disposal of The Undead, Jonathan was chosen as one of the tutors of Matt Donovan.  While others taught Matt how to fight and the true power of Prayer, Jon concentrated on teaching Matt about the real world, paranormals and what the Church knew on the history of The Undead.  Perhaps it was some of Jon's teaching that helped to broaden Matt's perspective and allowed him the flexibility to work with Wolf.

When word reached The Vatican that Matt-now known as Paladin to the rest of the world-was working with The Vindicators-and a werewolf!-Jon was sent to Motor City to speak with his former student and to meet Matthew Pathkiller.  Jon found Matt to be as clear-headed and as focused as he ever was, and he found Pathkiller-Wolf-to be a good man who just happened to suffer from a form of lycanthropy.  Jon opted to stay in Motor City and work with the refugees The Vindicators rescued from the lab in Canada.  He has proven to be a much-needed spiritual advisor, helping them to acclimate to the real world.

DESCRIPTION: Jon is a thin, in his late forties, he has thick red hair and pale, freckled skin.  He has green eyes that twinkle in just such a way that make superiors and rivals alike wonder what he has been up to.  When at the Vatican he wears a monk's robe, but in "the field" he has taken to wearing civilian clothing.  Despite that he tries his best to always look clean and well groomed.

PERSONALITY: Jon is a man of Faith with an honest and good heart.  He is a loyal member of the Catholic church, although that loyalty does not blind him to the unpleasant realities that have harmed it over the years.  He despises politics and in his heart feels that the Church should be about helping and protecting people, which is why he was so entheusiastic over the creation of The New Inquisition.

SKILLS: Jon has extensive knowledge about biblical history as well as extensive knowledge of The Undead and paranormals alike.
